Grass Is Grass Is Grass ….

Oh no it isn’t.

Spotted a bouncy biting little black friend on the pup this morning so a prompt visit to vet to stop him turning into a full on flea bag. £67 later and one very stressed pup we swerved by the fields out back of our house before taking him home for a bath on this glorious white skied Summer’s day (blooming muggy though).

I know dear reader that you will understand when I say, nature is just full of art and I felt it necessary to take a few pics.

The nature strip along the fields is full of buzzy friends, this is where I picked a few stems of grass as they drifted in the breeze. As you can see, grass isn’t just grass, look how beautiful each head is. Natures perfection. The head of cows parsley as it turns to seed and the promise of fat juicy blackberries in the autumn. YUM!

Whilst on my nature appreciation march the pup and HH had a good old game, both as daft as each other ( because I’m so very sane ). You can see how happy they are, even I don’t get greeted with open arms! It’s a bit of a love affair in truth. That said it was lovely to have an hour or so of family time before getting back to boring old chores.

Have a lovely weekend where ever you are x

Hola! Normal Service Resumed … Nearly

It’s been the longest time since I sat with my laptop and logged on to WordPress. (Blimey O’Riley …. how spooky, just got a message saying today is my one year anniversary with WordPress…. how strange is that . I chose today of all days to come back)

Funny how life changes so very much in just a few short months isn’t it?

When last you heard from me I was still doing battle with my agoraphobia and my world was pretty small (geographically) but following a fortuitous conversation with the friend of a friend, the next thing I find is myself going for a job interview!! This requires going outside of course and was somewhat of a challenge on the day but I dug in and told myself it was high time I fight back against my madness.

Well I was offered the job on the spot and started the very next day … whirl wind or what? So much else was going on in my family unit at the time, like most families.

Now 4 months on I am finding my new normal and 2 days ago picked up my unfinished crochet project. Like riding a bike, you never forget how, which is rather handy given I have miles of yarn and hundreds on meters of fabric so I’s better not forget how to be a creative! Had a good old rummage today through my patterns and am feeling inspired, I just have to learn how to do the work, home life balance thing. Lordy, all these new skills I am trying to learn 🙂

Been a big week for me on a family level. Met up with my wonderful cousin at Scotsbridge restaurant last weekend. He is from Vancouver and we met up last summer for the first time in 15 years. We got to repeat the treat this summer and it was a super day. My very small family came together in beautiful weather and enjoyed great food and the very best company.

Scotsbridge is in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire and sits on the river Chess. The water was running fast, cold and clear, on such a hot day it was too much temptation and toes were dipped 😉

Our eldest JK left from Heathrow on Thursday, bound for Vancouver for 5 weeks, successfully missed her connecting flight in Montreal courtesy of Heathrow keeping her flight back for an additional hour. You can imagine the panic at my end. Mothers like me think we are the only one’s who can fix things so it came as somewhat of a surprise when JK text me to say she had got herself onto the next Air Canada flight and wad only going to be running 2 hours late. REDUNDENT! Booo Hooo 😦

No, really am very proud of her coping alone in a strange country, we obviously did get listened to on the odd occasion. I wonder how many other pearls of wisdom our girls have actually taken on board? Time will tell.

Hope to have some pictures of homemade creations for you in the next couple of weeks but today I leave you with some recent pic’s taken on the fantabulous camera that isn’t mine 🙂
