Weekly Photo Challenge … The Hues of You

As an artiste dahling … a fabric artist …. needle woman to be more exact, I love love colour and texture. They are the foundations and corner stones of my Creative Church.

Like many creatives (and general population) I think and dream in colour, and in my head pictures come before words. To boot I am an emotional being and my moods have colours (to me that is).

I know that many see reds, oranges and hot hues as ‘angry’ colours. However, for me they are ‘warming’ and ‘soul filling’.

This picture as taken at my dear friends ‘gaff’ in Aruba. The same piece of sky tells a different story every single evening always a new colour and texture so when I saw the theme this week I thougth time to lose my novice status here and jump in both feet with my first weekly photo challenge.

Nature NEVER fails to amaze me with it’s creativity, ability to surprise and touch my soul. Hence, this particular picture speaks to me of the move form a dark rather gloomy mood, melting into my warm space before the refreshing burst of life giving bright blues….. note dear reader a wee grey/black cloud amongst the blue? A niggling doubt that isn’t winning in my mind as the fresh blue still manages to dominate it’s effect of shouting ‘look at me’!

Aruba …. Not as off topic as you would think!

Just a quickie to inspire me and all creatives. My darling friend Julie has a slice of paradise Coral Reef Beach, Aruba. Very robinson crusoe and the delight is guests are nearly always like us! Creative, tactile, adventurous and chilled. Before a days work at the day job wanted to inject myself with some feel good stuff and then thought dont be a selfish gal…… Share with your fellow creative souls. Creative thoughts run riot here whilst the calm steady Aruban pace allows for all the other head chatter to magically disappear!

Picture CURAZEE!!

Please dear fellow Creative Souls (CS) please bear with me. Obssessing to an even higher level than is usual for me. I’m trying to get my blog going but am prepared to confess at this point, it’s as easy as pinning jelly to a wall. Hence you are about to be bombarded with a load of pictures.

During my weekend project last week I made up a New Look pattern with some devine fabric I had bought whilst on holiday in Aruba (La Linda in Oranjestad has THE BEST fabric department ever) and I promised myself to follow the true path, hand finished bias, hems etc as a nod to my much missed Mum.

So I sincerely hope you don’t lose the will to live whilst having a little looksie at them.
