£1 = 1 tie = 4 Doobries!

image

In a self set challenge I purchased an Italian silk tie in a local charity shop for the princely sum of one English Pound! It was the ducks that attracted me ….. Theres a whole story about ducks and my youngest daughter but that’s for another day but it is a QUACKERS little tale!

Following a skype session I brazenly stole the idea for making a coin/card purse from the fat end of a tie but what to do with the remaining tie? As you know I hate waste, hence the upcycling of vintage fabrics.

so here are the doobries …..

1. Coin/card purse

2. Flower to attach to either a bag, hair or just a pretty decoration

3. Wallet for my Blackberry

4. Pin cushion …… Well it had to be didn’t it, after all I am a needle woman!

Any other ideas for tie makes? I’m sure with some more thought I will come up with more but I happily welcome your ideas too. These were an utter joy to make. All hand sewn, sitting quietly in the evening winding down chatting away to my man.

Ahhhhh! The simple pleasures

New addition to my fridge … the afore mentioned doobries that come from magical place that I’m not special enough to know about :0)
